Corporal John Stuart Bailey 1908 - 1984

John Stuart Bailey was born at Coxlodge, near Gosforth, Newcastle. His parents were Charles and Elizabeth Bailey. He attended school at Seaton Burn and later worked at Seaton Burn Pit. In 1931 he married Elizabeth Malone. From 1939-45 he lived at 107 Park Terrace, Wideopen and was a Corporal in the Seaton Burn Home Guard. After the war he continued to work for the NCB in opencast mining at Widdrington. Throughout his life he was a keen supporter of the local football and cricket team and was a regular at Seaton Burn Club.

 

Richard Dennis 1898-1982

Richard Dennis was born in Hebburn and was the son of Richard and Mary Dennis . He attended school in Hebburn and later served during World War 1 as an Officer in the Merchant Navy. He married Margaret Imrie from Jarrow in 1920. During World War 2 he lived at 7 Green lane, Dudley, was a Fitter at Dudley Colliery and served in the Dudley Home Guard unit.
